Immune system
Respiratory viruses, such as the currently spreading novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and seasonal influenza viruses of different strains, cause diseases whose symptoms manifest themselves in respiratory inflammation. A strong immune system that recognizes invading pathogens and activates the body’s own defences is like a protective shield and helps to ward off the attack of viruses and other pathogens.
Bladder & urinary tract
Our urinary system is something like the “filter system” of our body. In addition to the kidneys, it also includes the bladder, urethra and ureters. The kidneys filter minerals and metabolic breakdown products from the blood, which are excreted in the urine.
Metabolism
In simple terms, the term metabolism covers all the biochemical processes that take place in our body cells.
Stomach & Intestine
Our digestion is a very complex system involving the mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, small intestine with liver, gall bladder and pancreas and large intestine.
Hormone system & sexuality
Our body consists of numerous organs and systems with very different tasks. For everything to function properly, the processes must be coordinated. Hormones are responsible for controlling these biological processes.
Heart & circulation
The most important task of our circulatory system is to continuously supply all organs and tissues with oxygen, nutrients, vitamins and minerals and to remove the breakdown products of metabolism.
Skin & Hair
The skin is the most versatile organ in our body. First and foremost, it protects us from external environmental influences and the penetration of pathogens.
Brain & nerves
Thinking, feeling, sensing, learning, remembering – we owe these abilities to our brain and nervous system.
Bones & Muscles
Bones, joints, tendons and muscles – without them we would not be able to hold ourselves upright, walk or perform a wide variety of movements.
